Centre for Reviews and Dissemination (CRD)

The Centre for Reviews and Dissemination (CRD) is a department of the University of York and part of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). Established in 1994, CRD is a large group engaged in evidence synthesis. The Centre undertakes various of studies including systematic reviews, and it runs comprehensive databases (the DARE, NHS EED and HTA databases).

NNIHR Evaluations Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC)

NETSCC is part of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) in the United Kingdom. The HTA programme of the NIHR, which is managed by NETSCC, produces independent research (clinical studies and HTA reports) about the effectiveness and efficiency of different healthcare technologies. The HTA programme also prepares HTA reports on behalf of the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE). The results of these reports serve as direct input for reimbursement decisions in the context of the National Health Service.

National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE)

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) is an independent organisation responsible for providing national guidance on promoting good health and preventing and treating ill health. NICE publishes guidance on public health themes, health technologies and clinical practice. It makes binding recommendations to the National Health Service (appraisals). In most cases, the appraisals are based on HTA reports drawn up on behalf of NICE by the National Coordinating Centre for Health Technology Assessment (NCCHTA).
